Our Honduras Ministry seeks to proclaim Christ's Gospel to the people of Central America by introducing and nurturing them in a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is under the direction of Linda Mae Scolman, who founded this ministry after visiting Honduras to teach English as a Second Language and seeing a need to serve and proclaim the gospel to the impoverished living on the northern coast of Honduras.
Numerous members of Zion and other area churches have supported the Honduras ministry since its inception through financial support, school scholarships, and by traveling to Honduras to assist with the ministry programs.
What does it look like? While sharing the message of salvation in Jesus Christ, the ministry includes:
- Bike Trip and Retreat for Youth
- Food Distribution for the poor
- Esperanza Bible School (serving 400 children)
- Prison Ministry
- Celebrate Recovery
- Women's Retreat
- Community Bible Studies
- Vessels For Life - a home industry project with the women of Esperanza
- School Sponsorships
- English Classes
- Home Visitation
- Medical Assistance
- "Serving Recipients Serving their Community" Project (SRSC)
You can get involved, too! There are many possibilities, from actually going and being part of the ministry "on location" to supporting from home through financial donations, prayers, or organizing materials for projects. If you are interested in finding out how you can be part of this ministry, please contact the church office at 456-7660 or email@example.com.

Thank you Zion for all of your donations of supplies for the Honduras Ministry Programs and to those of you that have donated financially this year for this ministry to continue. Without all of your support it would be impossible to do all that we do. God has surely blessed this ministry in every way. Because of your faithfulness and response to the Holy Spirit working in your heart it continues to happen and yearly brothers and sisters are added to our Christian Family through baptism. I give you the sincerest thank you. God bless you all in your own personal service to our Lord to further the kingdom. If you are not receiving the updates sent out from Honduras when we are there please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be added to the update. An update is sent out about every two weeks letting you know what the Ministry is doing as we move through the two months we are in Honduras serving.
Joyfully in His Service, LindaMae Scolman
