I was born
in South Carolina and raised in Georgia. I have a BS
in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus,
GA. I am a Florida Certified
Special Education teacher and I substitute in the North Star
Borough part time. My husband Don and I are members of
the congregation of the First United Methodist Church here in
Fairbanks. Between us, we have 6 grown children, 7-1/2
grandchildren and a beautiful old Lab mix named Putter. We
have lived in Fairbanks since December 2004.
I have worked with addictions for the past
13 years both professionally and personally. One of my greatest passions is Christian
Recovery. I have been in recovery for 12+ years and have
been blessed to have been led to the Lord through my relationships
in Alcoholics Anonymous. When I came to AA, I had no hope. The
12 steps gave me a framework to know, believe and see Christ. I
have been attending and starting “Came to Believe” retreats
for the past 10 years. It is a joy to me to see those hurting
come to believe in THE power greater than themselves. I
am looking forward to seeing the miracles that the Zion Lutheran
Celebrate Recovery Ministry will bring to our community.
