Helping
in Time of Need . . .
Lives are
changed at the Fairbanks Rescue Mission everyday. By providing
the basic needs in life: food, shelter, and clothing, Interior
Alaska's needy, homeless, and transient population have shelter
and assistance ready and waiting for them. These are men and
women
just like you and I, with families and children like
ours. Somewhere, somehow, hard times came and they needed
a place to go for a helping hand. The Mission tries to
meet both spiritual and physical needs in helping individuals
towards restoration to a correct relationship with God
and a productive relationship within our society.
In a typical year, the Fairbanks Rescue Mission serves 65,500
meals, provides over 16,000 beds and gives out over 60,000 articles
of clothing and household goods. Zion's donations are used to buy
food, help pay for utilities (which exceed $3,000 monthly), help
clothe residents and buy supplies that are needed to run the mission.
The Rescue Mission receives no city, state or government funding;
all their help comes from people who send in monthly donations
and from churches like Zion.

Rescue webpage.
